Christopher Dahm: ECHOS (2020)
Sound Installation
1 speaker / 6 mirrors / 6 transducers
The space becomes an instrument and determines the composition. Character and texture of the room serve as a source of an impulse sound: resonating architectural elements are recorded with contact microphones. During the installation, the recorded impulse sound is played out over a speaker placed in the room, pointing in direction of the first mirror. Sound transducers are attached to the mirrors, which cause the mirrors to vibrate. The mirrors take over the function of a loudspeaker diaphragm.
Through ongoing reflections, the sound enters into a dialogue with the architectural and acoustic environment. Due to the distance between the mirrors, the architecture and speed of sound determine the sound rhythm of the room composition. By moving in space, the audience – depending on distance and angle to speakers and mirrors – both acoustic and visual perspectives change. Every new angle of view and hearing results in a different spatial experience.

Wingel Mendoza: 3 Voces Marchitas (2020)
3 voces marchitas is a piece that works as a nature-based sound sculpture because the sound is completely linked to the behavior and the environment of the plants. The plants create their own dialogue that we can listen to. All the data is collected in the computer in real-time and is transformed into sounds.
